Honestly I've tried lots of different brands and never really had an issue with any of them. If your in the Wisconsin area, New Glarus bottles seem to be a home brewers dream. I mostly use Sam Adams, they're sturdy and cap easily, but I've got a fair number of Harpoon and Sierra Nevada and a smattering of other stuff in the mix. Unless you Sir Butterfingers McGee, it's a non-issue. Glass mason jars are not "easy" to break. I've read reports of the Sierra Nevada bottles suffering a loss of mechanical integrity.
