The imagery is stunning, and fits into the film very well. Gothic is so far out there, it's practically Italian- near perfect nightmare cinema. Russell's sets compliment the story excellently, and the atmosphere in which the film takes place is more important than the story itself. I love the movie and would suggest that you see "Gothic" from the (Chilling Classics 50 movie pack) it's not perfect but its with-in reason. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 28, 2018. I bought into the "digitally remastered" nonsense thinking it would be a cleaned up, "pure" copy of a great Ken Russell film. The screen play is reasonably entertaining and has those surrealist episodes associated with Ken Russell.
