Snoqualmie Falls is a nice stop if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of the way to visit right now.
The water is really cold but it was still great to stick our feet in! Snoqualmie Pass is just an hour from Seattle and incredibly beautiful and one of the many beautiful places to explore in Washington State. is a very easy nice hike with some pretty views of the river and a smaller waterfall as you make your way to Franklin falls. The lake itself is pretty with a cool view of high rock lookout.

I received use of the Toyota 4-runner mentioned in this post but I was not required to write this and my opinions are my own.
River trail is still closed due to mudslides, but it was very quiet.

The beautiful hike to the bottom of the falls is closed until March 2013, which is my favorite part. Officially the trail starts near the Snoqualmie Falls Visitors Center and descends 1⁄2 mile to the powerhouse, but most people start at the lower parking lot as described here. You can still see the wagon road on some trails that I will tell you about later.

He found a hike in Snoqualmie Pass where we’ve been hanging out a lot lately and it seemed pretty kid-friendly but a little more back-country than we’ve been in a while. On our way back from Mirror Lake we couldn’t believe how crowded the trail became. The driving directions mentioned that you could take a jeep or all-terrain vehicle up the rocky section to save a bit of the hike but we were borrowing this 4-runner and I didn’t want to chance it but I think this vehicle could have definitely handled this. There were a few beautiful vistas as we trekked through tall trees and little creeks, berry bushes and mushrooms that were neat to point out to the boys too. Plenty of parking.

It is clearly marked from the large parking lot a half mile past the bridge and trail head for Franklin Falls. It was pretty perfect.
The trail was beautiful with lots to see! Use the arrows above the image to see all nine kid-friendly hikes to waterfalls that never disappoint. It was easier to park in the higher parking lot. the falls themselves are beautiful however hearing the traffic from i-90take away from it. So get out and enjoy the trails with your family! It is an easy hike to the lake, trail was not so crowded and we took our dogs there, and saw many dogs along the way. She has some great, local family friendly hiking suggestions – hikes that her own family has given the seal of approval!

The area is located about an hour from Seattle and in the summer is perfect for hiking, eating, and drinking. Our 3 ½ year old was able to do this one. This hike is located in Snoqualmie Pass and is 2 miles (roundtrip) with well paved trails and rock steps that make the short hike to the falls easy and safe for hikers big and small, and of course, for our short four legged companions.
