After our walk around the area, we returned for dinner. Our orders came quickly and were very generous portions. We chose to eat in the outdoor area which was very enjoyable in the warm sunshine.There are cheaper places to eat in the Kilmore Quay area but you get what you pay for and I would rate our dining experience as excellent and good value.
Food is well cooked, but unadventurous and a bit stuck in the 70s - think fairly plain pan fried fish with veg on the side. We visited the Silver Fox on a birthday occasion and everything was perfect, freshly cooked food,good service and beautifully located in pitorescue village of Kilmore Quai Highly reccomended!
I had the Monkfish and Scallop dish while my wife enjoyed Cod. The staff were extremely friendly and service was excellent. You will not be...disappointed.More.

A quaint but working fishing port with 2 ice cream shops and 2 restaurants, the Silver Fox on a warm sunny day for a late lunch was excellent.The owners are in the kitchen & on the floor and the daily specials reflect on what comes out of the sea at Kilmore Quay that day.Reasonable wine list. Other customers food all looked really good. We had wonderful food. We were met by very friendly staff who seated us and dropped down a complimentary consommé...which was a nice touch.
