There weren't any spectacular spots, but a lot of fantastic wrestling. Banks wasted little time targeting the left knee injured earlier in the night, looking for a quick victory. McIntyre won, but not decisively enough that a rematch doesn't make sense. Would have been better shorter, and certainly with a live crowd reacting to Dominik's debut. They brawled back to the ring, where they continued to hit big moves on one another. A simple, but decent match. With that said, the finish was awesome: Rey Mysterio was handcuffed to the ropes (some of the smoke and mirrors I mentioned), and watched as Rollins curb stomped Dominik for the three count. The teases of the RKO and the Claymore were well done and the finish was clever, especially if this is intended to be the emphasis for the next chapter in the feud.

He sold like hell when the situation called for it and was the antagonistic ass when he needed to be. The bout followed the story from the opening match. A modified Codebreaker from The Boss earned her a two while a follow-up frog splash missed the mark. One or two moments were clunky, but the competitors cut a frenetic pace and jam-packed their time with a ton of spots. Awesome! You’ll never see it coming. Just moments in, Banks hit a gnarly sunset flip powerbomb to Asuka from the apron to the ground.
The championship match itself was all big moves. The Golden Goddess set a table up at ringside but her rival blasted her with a chair to the midsection and seized control of the bout. Asuka and Bayley have great in-ring chemistry, dating all the way back to their days in NXT, and it showed here. Rematches like these are always harder to keep my attention. I figured this would be a quick blowoff, but she’s been booked better than I thought she would be. This match benefitted greatly from that, because I'm sure it would have died in front of a crowd. "You're just a freak in a mask," The Big Dog shouted. How long before R-Truth wins it back tonight? Perhaps it was a shocking conclusion to the increasingly psychological battle between Braun Strowman and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt? SummerSlam's tagline was "You'll never see it coming" and I was shamefully admit -- I did not see this coming. Loved this. Once you’ve seen it 10 times, the 11th time isn’t worth getting too invested in.

A great match in a string of them on Sunday night. She exceeded expectations and now seems set for a future dominated by Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax. It was not a particularly good match. He took a young man with no professional experience to date, and he made him look like an absolute star in this spectacular bit of business. Yup. I’m digging it. What an uneventful title reign for Hardy, now that it’s over. Man, that video package was good. Orton screamed in agony but, in a move he almost certainly learned from Flair, pulled the referee out of the way and poked the eye of the champion, thus forcing the break. Murphy jumped into the match and leveled the rookie with a knee to the face. It capped off a mixed show. A dropkick by the second-generation star allowed Mysterio to grab the weapon but he failed to connect with it.
Banks attacking and further putting Asuka at a disadvantage was exactly the story they needed to tell after the match and set up the second chapter of the program later in the night. This bout was a little disjointed at points, but it was a solid tag match. Asuka mounted a comeback, pushing the pace and building momentum. Asuka unloaded on Banks as a worried Bayley looked on. The Street Profits defeat Garza and Andrade. The fight spilled back into the arena. The double underhook facebuster and a fourth knee to the face earned Rose the hard-fought victory. When they likely lose, it’ll make sense, as they’ve been arguing. What an awesome way for Reigns to look great and for Jey to keep his dignity.
