Own or manage this property? After a mind expanding drive to the harbor at Elgol on a sunny early evening, we wanted no further driving out of Broadford to celebrate our day. Starters were very good and main meals. The second night, the kitchen lost our order, so it took a long time to be served, but the atmosphere was comfortable, the libations generous, and all was forgiven. Soon to be an owner Jamie provided a table and the specials as soon as we arrived.The soup and entrees were very fine. (Personally I agree with this way of operating as it can be very frustrating when you arrive at a restaurant and there are 3 empty tables and the staff tell you they are fully booked).All in all, a very nice meal at a good price. The Claymore has become one of our regulars each time we spend a week on Skye and as we usually stay in Sleat, we find Broadford (in the main season between March - October) has plenty to satisfy our taste buds without having to travel further up to Portree unless we're there anyway.On our latest week’s stay on Skye, we ate dinner at the Claymore twice, both times were very good and we enjoyed Beetroot Carpaccio and Haggis Bon Bon (starters), pan fried cod and the Shelfish Platter for two.Having previously enjoyed their draught Skye Red and Skye Gold ales, I was pleased to see they had Skye IPA on draught this time and it was excellent, definitely my favourite of the three draughts I've sampled (there are more variants available in bottles).As always, the service in the Claymore was really efficient and very friendly.
