With the saga of Bhaalspawn closed Minsc fulfilled a long promised oath. Basically I use FOA + DOE or FOA + CRom or My favorite : Fobane + DoE for great résistance and great regen especially with GWW. You can't chat with this user due to their or your privacy settings. Also for Korgan/Aerie (at least in my game), Korgan taunts her to the point of her threatening to leave, but she never did. As in the original assessment, I’m not taking him if I’m powergamjng though. Every tavern in Faerun had a bard singing of the valiant ranger, and he was a welcome hero. The precedent condition for them fighting requires Dynaheir. A lot of quality content. The person playing him (I can't remember the name) was very fond of Civ 2 and always played as the Russians and so named his character after the city of Minsk. And in BG2 I'm not "limited" at having Dynaheir in the party. Rangers are uniquely primed for dual-wielding - Minsc doubly so with his Strength - but with his specs divided between 2-handed swords (not bad but also not dual-wield friendly), longbows (okay in a pinch but plays to Minsc's weaknesses) and maces (finally a dual-wield weapon, but one with very limited options in BG1), he's gonna need some investment before you can get him up to snuff.
Don't forget about Korgan. Dual wielding celestial fury and whatever other weapon the fight calls for was very potent, until I got black razor and foebane upgraded. really wish I could remember where I saw all these things - I'm going by memory. When Dynaheir dies, Edwin and Minsc queue their lament and then you can take both to the end game without either leaving the party. All of this born from a deeply rooted love for games, utmost care about customers, and a belief that you should own the things you buy. I always drop Minsc as soon as I get out of the starter dungeon. On the other hand, it's still got all the obscenely powerful magic-denying goodness of Enrage, and I've never seen Minsc attack allies so long as there were enemies present. A mage is always a useful ally. I think it’s so endearing that he has found a new witch - which I feel like he sees as a little sister.
