Neuroscience of Consciousness is an open-access journal from Oxford University Press . To resolve these issues and help put consciousness science on a fruitful track for its next phase, insights and developments are needed from across the field’s many disciplines. There is much uncertainty and divergent opinions about what theories of consciousness in fact set out to explain; several theories are still to articulate clearly their core commitments and testable implications; there is a lack of clarity about the extent to which different theories can eventually be compared.
